Mining of Ubiquitin binding domain containing proteins in human proteome

Summary

​

Ubiquitination is an important process in the regulation of protein activity and functionality. Mining of all the human proteome of the E3 ligases and DUB domains has tremendous functionality in the DNA damage and repair mechanism. To mine all the proteins containing DUB domains, I incorporated protein sequence databases like InterPro, UniProt and Prosite. Custom scripts in Perl and bash scanned the entire proteome and identified domains. This project paved the foundation for the possible CRISSPR-Cas9 knockout in DNA damage and repair.
